What Should I Expect?

As a new applicant for the Auxiliary, you must be at least 18 years of age or at least be turning 18 within 30 days of the date you submitted your application. You will be required to undergo an interview before the Line officers and patrol officers within the CPA, voted in through the board, and sworn in by either the City Mayor of Connellsville or the Connellsville Chief of Police. By law, you must undergo a full criminal background check for the protection of yourself, other auxiliary officers & the public. You also will be required to obtain a PA Child Abuse History Clearance as you will be working with children during various events in which the Auxiliary will assist you in obtaining as a member at no charge.
 

We accept applicants regardless of their level of experience in public safety. You will be properly trained by our experienced officers in conducting traffic control, crowd control, de-escalation of public disputes, situation control and subject control. You will be trained in First Aid / CPR. You will also be offered optional training on how to properly use handcuffs, defensive tactics and much more upon request. All training is provided FREE.

We will provide you with the proper attire you will be required to wear while on-duty given the type of event and weather conditions. You will be provided with the required uniforms and equipment to perform your duties as a police auxiliary officer.

What Will Be Expected of Me?

We expect our members to attend monthly meetings, willingly take assignments during community events, act professionally, bring and display a welcoming & positive attitude with you every time you are on-duty, participate in training and assist in fundraising efforts.
